I am pleased to announce that the 2009 F1inSchools Super Regional competition of Maitland and Cessnock hubs will held on Wednesday 30 September at Newcastle Airport Williamtown from 8.30am to 3.30pm.
On Tuesday 29 September there will be a setup and industry collaboration day which will include tours of the airport, BAE, and SAE racing team from the University of Newcastle. During this day students will have the opportunity to setup their displays and practice racing. In the afternoon some preliminary racing will occur but all judging will occur on Wednesday 30.
Thus far teams have registered from Merewether High School (5 Teams), Maitland Grossmann High School (4 Teams), Mount View High School (3 Teams), and St Pauls Booragul (1 Team). Other schools involved in the event at this stage are Lake Macquarie High, Maitland High, and Singleton High. The University of Newcastle is also involved with Mechanical Engineering students involved in displays and judging of the event.
